Everyone’s Waiting. No One’s Coming
Let’s just say it:
We are not okay.
And we keep pretending we are, because to admit otherwise would mean having to face the truth. We are losing our humanity, and we’re completely aware of it—yet we move forward in quiet acceptance.
The Lie We All Bought
Somewhere along the way, for better or worse, we started believing that if we just keep our heads down, work hard, stay quiet, and behave, something will save us.
A politician. A policy. A new school year. A new app.
We tell ourselves, “Just wait… things will get better. They have to.”
But deep down? We know they won’t.
Not unless we get better.
Not unless we start choosing each other again.
We’re waiting for a rescue that’s never been scheduled. And while we wait, we scroll past people who are drowning.
No One Talks About This Part
We are lonely. All of us.
We live entire lives online, but no one sits with us in silence while we fall apart. We’re terrified to admit we don’t know how to connect anymore. That we miss something—a feeling, a sensation—we can no longer even name.
And our kids?
They don’t even know what they’re missing.
They’re being raised in a world where no one looks up… no one even bats an eye. Where everyone is too busy branding themselves to belong to anything real. Where the word friend means someone who liked your story but didn’t say anything—or even care enough to notice when you were spiraling.
We say we want kids to care, but we raise them in a world that numbs them before they even get the chance to understand what caring really is.

We’ve Mistaken Distraction for HopeWe are not building anything… we are consuming. Opinions. Outrage. Plastic peace and filtered joy. We’ve been trained to stay busy enough not to notice how hollow it’s all become. We scroll past injustice and click “like” on a stranger’s trauma before returning to our online shopping or Uber Eats order.
We’ve turned awareness into a performance. And our silence into survival.
What if silence is the problem?
The Truth We Don’t SayWe are failing each other...Every time we ghost someone who needed us.Every time we choose comfort over courage.Every time we silence our gut to maintain the illusion of peace.Every time we hand a child a screen instead of our presence.
We know it’s wrong. We can feel it—if we actually take the time to pause and listen to ourselves. But we do it anyway. Because the lie is far easier than the truth:We are disconnected. And it is costing us everything.
The Way Back Is Not a ShortcutWe keep hoping for a magic fix. But the fix is us. Our messiness. Our honesty. Our humility.
Sitting with people when it’s awkward. Showing up when we don’t have the answers—and being able to admit it. Saying, “I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m here.”
That is where the healing starts. Not in a program. Not in an algorithm. But in us—deciding to be human again.
What If This Is It?What if there’s no next version of society? What if the version we’re creating—right now, through what we choose and avoid—is all our kids will ever know?
Because that is what’s happening. Every moment of every day.
We cannot wait for things to change. We have to be the change.
