Picture this: you suddenly have the ability to transform your life by taking small, simple steps in your every day life. I know it sounds too good to be true, but guess what? It's not.
The strength of everyday habits has the power to alter your whole life in ways you never even thought possible. Whether it is getting more done, becoming healthier, or shifting your thinking, everyday habits hold the key to positive change. Most of us stop believing this works after we have tried for years. More often than not this is because we stop too quickly. So the key here is to keep going past the point where you feel you should be noticing something different.
So where do you start? Keep reading for three easy habits that I have found that are easy to implement today to create permanent change in your life:
1. Start Your Day with Intention
It might sound cliche, but how you start your day really does determine the tone for the rest of the day. Begin each morning with a peaceful ritual that gets you plugged in—whether that's a cup of coffee during quiet time, a few minutes of journaling, or a quick stretch. This small act of intention will leave you feeling more grounded and prepared to tackle whatever the day brings. Be consistent with this.
2. One Thing at a Time
It's easy to become overwhelmed when you try to accomplish a million tasks at once. Instead, tackle one task at a time. Try to prevent your mind from wandering towards that endless to-do list. Focus on staying present with this one task. Whether it's a work task or a personal goal, breaking your day into focused chunks will allow you to make steady progress without exhausting yourself. It's amazing how much you can accomplish when you get your priorities in order.
3. Actually be Grateful for Yourself
End your day with a gratitude practice that will turn your mind from scarcity to abundance. Write down three things you are thankful for, however small they may seem. This practice will help you see the good things in life, improving your mood and feeling of well-being.
Remember small habits yield big results. Those little changes may seem to contribute little at first, but if you add them up, you may be surprised by the how large the results really are. And here's something better: You can start today. By developing one good habit at a time, you'll begin to experience a life transformation that leaves you happier and more confident.
